Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, including before and after meals, after sneezing or coughing, after touching frequently-touched surfaces (such as door handles and elevator buttons), and after using the restroom.
- If soap and water are unavailable, use a hand sanitizer solution that is at least 60% alcohol, which will be provided in stations located around campus.
- Do not touch your nose, mouth, or eyes with unwashed hands.
- Touchless hand sanitizer stations will be set up around campus for individual use when soap and water is not readily available.
Sneeze or cough into a tissue and discard immediately. If a tissue is unavailable, sneeze or cough into the inside of your elbow. Individuals should immediately wash their hands for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer after sneezing or coughing.
Use of Plastic Gloves:
General use of plastic gloves is not required unless directed by a supervisor or unit head. Wearing gloves is not a replacement for good hand hygiene.
